iPad in Business Conference

When Transcom asked us to speak at an iPad in Business conference at Apple HQ it didn't take long for us to say yes! The day was so over-subscribed that a second day had to be added to the schedule and it would be fair to say we were a little nervous presenting to such a diverse range of businesses and at such a prestigious location.

The day represented a fantastic opportunity for businesses to listen first hand to a business update from Apple, and in particular the use of iPads in business environments. Inspiring and often jaw dropping stats were presented that left everyone warmed up to listen to the various speakers of the day including;

• Mobile Device Management (Airwatch)
• Wireless Network Management (Meru Networks)
• Hardware financing and staff purchase schemes (CPU Group)
• iPad application development (us!)

Our presentation covered the basics of mobile application development for iPad, from web apps through to native development. We looked at the use of iBooks in business and presented a number of app examples we have worked on for clients. Finally we were joined on stage by Patrick Bererra, Project Manager at Virgin Holidays, for a joint case study on the recent work we had undertaken for the brand across a number of mediums.

It was a fantastic opportunity to talk alongside some really influential and groundbreaking businesses in the mobile arena and reassuring, and encouraging, that so many businesses ranging from SMEs to a number of global brands wanted to here what we had to say on the subject!
