Cannonball Run Europe 2012

10th Anniversary Run

This was the 10th Cannonball event I had been on, and the 4th year Blue Juice has been responsible for the video and photography capture for the rally.

Billed as a party on wheels, the run presents some challenging obstacles for production. First and foremost, with more than 40 cars taking part, driving 2500 miles in just 6 days, just being in the right place at the right time is almost impossible. In addition to this, we are responsible for producing a final night party edit of the run, shown to all the Cannonballers and guests at the black tie do on the Friday evening. This means that thoughtful the event not only do we need to capture as much as we can, but we also need to process this and create edits while on the road.

Virgin Holidays Travel Emporium

Video Content & Mobile Application Development

Virgin Holidays launched their first 'Holiday Emporium' on Kensington High Street in December and Blue Juice were asked to create various video elements to be displayed on the various screens throughout the flagship store.

As well as standard dimension LED screens, the store features a unique video wall, experience wall and a number of multi-screen displays in various orientations.

The project also presented us with the perfect opportunity to demo our augmented reality application. The application uses the device camera to recognise trigger images, such as brochure covers, holiday images or even complete walls and areas of the store, and display video content on the iPad once an image is recognised.

For Blue Juice site, where ident already exists in video file

The concept app demonstrates how we can bridge traditional print and physical location with digital content, and we have really only just scratched the surface of what can be achieved in the demo at Kensington. As a technology, augmented reality is nothing new, but it’s how we use it to create an experience that captivates, engages and allows customer to interact with a brand through a mobile device that makes it unique.
